Travel behind the wall was an intriguing experience. My recent trip to China, though brief, was startling and enlightening. What struck me out as profound was the ability of Chinese youngsters to accomplish their task, in an unified and focused manner.
In the last five years i have interacted with more than 15000 indian youngsters. The common behavioral trait amongst a majority of these youngsters was a lack of self belief and an ardent want to be approved by seniors and others. On the other hand there are also these people who are on the other extreme - I know what I want and I dont care about what you care!
Amongst these extremes, there are few youngsters who are highly focused and have a clear purpose in their lives. This characteristic trait is what was seen by me in abundance in the 200 chinese youngsters i interacted with over 10 days.
India is a land of abundance. We have jobs, we have educational opportunities and we have english speaking talent. But unfortunately the majority breed of youngsters coming up now are clueless in how they could develop themselves holistically and contribute to the societies growth.
So, it is with this comment that I close this post - We need to be watching out for China - because the young China I saw seems to be a force to reckon with and if we don't prepare we will be overawed by them.
So, rise young India, take our country further. Believe in yourself and ask for the best and give your best. best is nothng less than 100% in everything we do.
