Today, I happened to read an interesting post on face book by a friend,a question to her daughter where she had mused "who is whose pillar?" This friend is an acquaintance, acquired recently and, whose name literally means "fate" in the tamil language.
What the post didn't mention, which was seen in the picture, was the point my friend was in absolute bliss in that moment - she was a child in all aspects - curious, inquisitive, in control and full of life.
As fate would have it, I have been on the quest of finding meaning for "normalcy", "loneliness", "spirituality" and most of all "true state of happiness"... and my new found friend's post gave me an insight to what it could be!!! and this is been a common feature in many other friend's lives.
One common link between all the factors I have been exploring is the sense and state of "being" - Being yourself, being with yourself, finding one's being, and finally being. But all explanations didn't explain the true essence of happiness. I got answers to the How, Why, when, where and with whom of all the above factors. One fact eluded me was the "What is happiness?"
Look at these pictures. What do you feel. What would you want to do with these flowers and finally what do you think you could do with these flowers?
Whatever your answer is, it purely depicts what you want to experience. Your happiness is about what you want to experience with these flowers.
Likewise, our true happiness is not dependent on how you want to be, whom you want to be or why you want to be, but it has everything to do with the thought - what you want to do with the moment?
It's a persevering thought, that flows through your body, mind and soul. It's the feeling that gets generated from the situation that gives you the complete sense of being one with whatever you are doing. This feeling permeates your life and satiates your sense of being if you truly believe in "What you are?" in the current situation.
Happiness, in the true form is, being yourself and reveling in the truth of what you are and what you can be? It is the manifestation of what you want to do with the moment so that you can be what you want to be...
I guess, the leaf I would like to take from my friends lives is, they are what they want to be when they are with their children... Because children always remain who they are. They remain so because they do what they want to do - in this they are truly happy and find bliss even in small things! Because like a pillar they are rooted to their current being.
All of us search for happiness, but we still haven't realize our true happiness lies in what we are being now. True happiness is not one off thing, but true happiness is continuous process of being with yourself. True happiness can be seen when we see our little flowers going about their actions. They are truly in bliss, devoid of distractions, and pressures. They reach out when they have a need. But beyond that they are with themselves - just being.
So, the secret my friends is not about finding happiness outside, because it is not outside you. True happiness is being you and believing in what you are and what you can.
